Stay safe: how to spot scams

Learn how to spot scams that pretend to be Cardtonic, which channels are official, and what to do if you shared your details.

Scammers sometimes pretend to be Cardtonic to steal your money or your account. Cardtonic will never ask for your password, PIN or verification code by phone, WhatsApp, social media or email. We only send links to cardtonic.com. Do not share your codes with anyone, including Cardtonic staff.

Signs of a scam

  • Someone asks for your password, your PIN, or a code from your email.

  • A message asks you to log in through a link that is not cardtonic.com. Check the web address before you enter your details.

  • Someone offers to trade your gift card for you outside the Cardtonic app or website.

  • Someone says they are from Cardtonic and contacts you from a number or account that is not listed below.
